conference participants must register to participate in the Conference.
Registration at the conference includes admission to all conference sessions,
refreshments and meals, transportation to the conference dinner, access to the
conference proceedings, and a 1-year subscription to the Journal of Technology
Transfer.

closes August 31, 2006.
Q. I am a
student. Do I have to register?
A. Yes. A reduced rate is available to bona-fide students.
Q. I live in
Atlanta and/or I am a friend, colleague or student of one of the organizers. Do
I really have to register?
A. Please see answers to the first two questions (above)!
Q. I can't
register online. Is there another way?
A. Yes. You can also register by fax or phone. See
Registration
page.
Q. I submitted
a paper or session proposal - what should I receive back?
A. All paper or session proposers should have received an email letter
indicating the status of their proposal. If you have not heard back or have
additional questions, please email:
t2s2006@pubpolicy.gatech.edu
Q. Is it still
possible to submit a paper or session proposal?
A. The program is mostly complete, but late submissions are still being
considered on a space available basis. See
call for papers for details.
Q. Where can I
find hotel information?
A. For overnight accommodations, a block of rooms has been reserved at the
Georgia Tech Hotel, which is adjacent to the Conference Center in Technology
Square. You may contact the GT Hotel and Conference Center at +1
800-706-BUZZ(2899) (not toll-free from outside the US) or +1 (404) 347-9440.
(Hotel reservation cut-off
date of August 28 - but rooms may still be available after, please check). Several other local hotel options are listed under Hotel
Information on the website at
http://www.pe.gatech.edu.
Q. Can I get to
the Georgia Tech Hotel and the Conference Center using public transportation?
A. Yes. From the airport, take MARTA (rapid transit train, cost = $1.75) to
Midtown Station, then take the yellow Georgia Tech trolley (free shuttle bus) outside
the south side of the station to Technology Square and the Georgia Tech Hotel
and Conference Center. For the trolley schedule, see
http://www.parking.gatech.edu/info/1_maps__schedules/6_tech_trolley_route.php.
From the airport, you can also take a taxi to the Georgia Tech Hotel (cost
= c. $34). For more details, see
http://www.gatech.edu/technology-square/map.php
Q. Where can I
park a car?
A. We recommend public transportation. But if you really want to come by
car, you can park in the multi-storey car park next to the Georgia Tech Hotel
and Conference Center (on Spring Street). It is paid parking. See
http://www.gatech.edu/technology-square/map.php.
Q. How long
will I have to present my paper?
A. Paper presentation sessions are generally 90 minutes. Most sessions will have
3 paper presentations. Allowing a few minutes for introductions, this will
generally work out to be about 28 minutes per paper. We recommend that
presenters speak for no more than 18 minutes, thus allowing about 10 minutes for
questions and discussion. For those few sessions with more than 3 presenters,
you will have less time per individual presentation, but please communicate with
the panel chair (when announced) to confirm timing.
Q. How should I
submit my paper?
A. Participants are asked to submit written papers by September 5, 2006. Email
your paper to
t2s2006@pubpolicy.gatech.edu. Please send in Word or RTF format. Your
paper should include on the front page the title, author name(s), affiliation(s)
and contact information, and an abstract of up to 150 words. The whole paper
should not exceed 5000 words, including references, tables, and appendices.
Q. How will the
papers be published?
A. Papers will be posted as part of the conference program, and made available
to conference participants for download. Papers will be posted in Acrobat PDF
format (but send to us originally as word documents). After the conference, a
set of electronic proceedings will be prepared and made available on the
conference web site.
Q. How can I
present a PowerPoint or overhead presentation in my conference session?
A. All conference presentations rooms are equipped for PowerPoint presentations
or overheads. For PowerPoint, please bring your presentation with you on a USB
FlashDrive, USB PenDrive, or similar USB storage device. 3.5" floppy disks
cannot be used. For an overhead presentation, bring your hard copies either
as transparencies or printed on white paper. You do not need to use your laptop
to present - every room has a built in computer and monitor.
Q. Could you
let me know if it will be possible to access a web site and display the pages on
a screen during my presentation?
A. Yes, all presentation rooms and auditoriums have Internet access and Web
Browsers, which can be displayed on the screens.
You do not need to use your laptop to present - every room has a built in
computer and monitor.
Q. I don't
think I'll have a written paper. Can I still attend and present?
A. We are encouraging participants to submit written papers - this greatly
increases the quality of the conference, and allows others to become aware of
your work, even if they cannot attend your session. However, if you really can't
submit a written paper in time, the answer is: yes, you can still attend and
present (as long as you have paid your registration!).
Q. What about
Internet access?
A. The Technology Square area - including the Georgia Tech Hotel, Global
Learning and Conference Center, and local retail outlets - is covered by a
wireless Internet system: FastPass. For more details, see
http://www.purdigital.net/index.php?id=9. To use, you need a wireless
enabled laptop or similar device and a credit card (there is a fee).
Q. I have a
question not answered above.
A. Please send an email to
ttconference@mail.gatech.edu or call Karen Halstead at +1 (404) 385-0513
